ICA30105 Certificate III in Information Technology (General)
Course Outline

Description
This qualification develops skills and knowledge in the installation and management of simple networks and provides for an individual to be effective in network management either as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team.
The qualification has a number of logical relationships with vendor certifications for ICT networking technologies.

Job Roles
Graduates from this qualification could work in basic personal computer (PC) support, basic network/system administration or in first level help desk roles. as well as work in ICT retailing or vendor product support. Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) will find the outcomes of this qualification useful at advanced ICT user or introductory technical support levels.

Recognition of Prior Learning
All clients can apply for recognition of prior learning for any Nationally Accredited course of training.  Recognition of prior learning is the formal process whereby clients can be accredited for individual units of competence or entire qualifications due to previous vocational experience and knowledge gained.  For further information on this process contact The Learning Laboratory on 08 8231 2426.

The Assessments & Workplace Projects
To achieve the certificate, each participant must submit a variety of workplace projects as a form of assessment.  To maximise the value of the program, all assessments are aligned with ongoing business priorities.  For instance, a project could be to write an IT procedure manual that can then be used as a common business tool long after the training has been completed.

Training Incentives
If you enrol any employee into this program you may also be eligible for Commonwealth government training incentives. For example, subject to an employee meeting certain criteria, an employer may be eligible for up to four thousand dollars ($4,000) in total, from the Federal Government's incentive funding program; if a trainee completes a Cert 3 in Information Technology. This incentive funding comes in payments:-
1.  Commencement Incentive
     One thousand and five hundred dollars ($1,500) initial incentive payment received upon successful completion of first three months (91 days) of training.

2.  Completion Incentive
     Two thousand and five hundred dollars ($2,500) upon successful completion of Certificate 2 & 3.

3.  In addition you may also be eligible for a $1100 innovation incentive.


Definition:
New Trainees:  Is defined as a Full time employee employed by the company for less than 3 months or a part time employee employed for less than 12 months and working more than 15 hours per week.
